Technical Training Specialist (m/f/d) – Energy Efficiency & Digitalization in Industry

The dena (German Energy Agency) is a center of expertise for the practical implementation of the energy transition and climate protection. It addresses the challenges of a climate-neutral society and supports the federal government in achieving its energy and climate policy goals. Since its founding in 2000, the agency has been developing solutions, putting them into practice, and bringing together partners from politics, business, academia, and all sectors of society—both nationally and internationally. Dena is a project company and a publicly owned enterprise under federal ownership. Dena’s shareholders are the German federal government and Dena itself.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identification of technical training needs and skills gaps in industry related to digitalization and energy efficiency, e.g., data processing, sensor technology, predictive maintenance, digital twins
  • Design of instructional modules on industrial digitalization technology (energy management, AI-supported optimization) using digital tools (learning platforms, simulation environments) and analog methods (hands-on workshops, role-playing exercises)
  • Development of action-oriented training formats (e.g., via blended learning, gamification) with a technical focus and in conjunction with hands-on demonstrators
  • Establishing partnerships for educational programs, e.g., with universities, vocational schools, research centers, and companies, to develop practical, technically sound educational content
  • Implementation of test formats followed by evaluation and adaptation based on technical and pedagogical feedback

Your Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in (industrial) engineering, energy, environmental, or sustainability management, or a comparable technical or scientific field, ideally with a focus on education or pedagogy—alternatively, a college degree in education or journalism (e.g., vocational education, didactics, science communication) with a demonstrable technical focus
  • In-depth knowledge of adult education, continuing education management, or corporate training practices
  • Proven experience in the design and implementation of digital learning formats (e.g., e-learning, simulations) in an industrial or technical-scientific context
  • An affinity for creative, interactive knowledge transfer, e.g., through workshops, digital or haptic tools, and always with a focus on people
  • Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration within an intrinsically motivated team
  • Self-reliance, a service-oriented mindset, and strong communication skills
  • Very good German language skills
  • Since this is an infrastructure project, residency in the Halle/Leipzig area is required.
