Technician / foreman for measurement technology and cable test van (m/f/d)
Your tasks
- In the event of faults, you will carry out fault diagnosis on site. Using the cable test van and modern measuring equipment, you will locate cable faults in order to identify the source of the fault. At the same time, you will control and document the measures required to rectify faults and actively participate in fault analysis.
- Your activities will also include carrying out cable tests and cable diagnostics.
- In addition to using the cable test van, you will also be responsible for its maintenance and looking after the associated equipment to ensure smooth operation at all times.
- You will take measurements and provide evidence of the voltage quality in our medium and low-voltage network.
- In addition, you will support the development of the low-voltage grid management by actively participating in setting up the necessary measuring points and thus contributing to a secure supply.
- Your tasks will also include the maintenance and commissioning of charging stations, backup power generators and other technical equipment as well as dealing with fundamental technical issues.
Your qualifications
- You have successfully completed industrial/technical training and further training as a master craftsman or technician (m/f/d) in the field of electrical engineering or a comparable qualification.
- You have a technical understanding in the field of electrical power engineering and ideally have already gained knowledge in the operation of high, medium and low voltage networks and the use of different measuring methods.
- A class C1 driving license is required to use the cable test van. You don’t have this yet? – No problem! What counts for us is your willingness to acquire the driver’s license with our support.
- You are open to participating in paid on-call duty. We will be happy to explain how this is structured during the interview.
- Handling electricity requires special care, which is why a structured, considered and responsible way of working is crucial for us.

To strengthen our team at AVU Netz GmbH, we are looking for you as a technician/master for measurement technology and cable test van (m/f/d) at our site in Gevelsberg. As part of your job, you will contribute to the safe, reliable and sustainable functioning of our electricity network by using measurement methods to rectify faults and also contribute to the future design of the low-voltage network.
This is a permanent full-time position (38 hours). It would be possible to fill the position with part-time employees if a joint working time model can be found that meets the requirements. If you wish to work part-time, please state your preferred hours in your application.
