Technician (m/f/d) for Grid Protection, Grid Operations, and Technical Documentation

We, FairNetz GmbH, are the grid operator in Reutlingen and in many municipalities in the region. With approximately 400 employees, we ensure the reliable and sustainable operation of electricity, natural gas, and district heating- We are actively and proactively shaping the energy transition using state-of-the-art technology, smart distribution grids, the integration of renewable energy sources, innovative digitalization strategies, and the promotion of electric mobility.

Your Responsibilities

  • Creation and ongoing maintenance of wiring diagrams and circuit diagrams for switchgear in substations (secondary systems)
  • Development and refinement of precise circuit and system documentation for medium- and low-voltage systems
  • Contributing to the technical documentation of grid operations—in particular through the analysis and structured processing of supply disruptions
  • Processing data from fault and system documentation to produce meaningful analyses and overviews
  • Supporting the parameterization and comprehensive documentation of protective devices
  • Close coordination with grid operations, maintenance, and external partners to ensure efficient processes
  • Maintenance, structuring, and updating of technical inventory records, plans, and databases
  • Participation in on-call duty for the medium-voltage sector

Your Qualifications

  • Completed technical training in electrical engineering, energy engineering, or mechatronics—ideally supplemented by training as a technical systems planner (specializing in electrical systems) or a comparable qualification
  • Practical experience in the energy supply sector, preferably within the context of a grid operator
  • Expertise in medium-voltage switchgear, substations, and power substations is a plus
  • Proficiency in CAD systems as well as common software and documentation solutions
  • Strong affinity for IT and openness to new systems and digital processes
  • A structured, independent, and responsible work style
  • Team-oriented, able to handle pressure, and a solution-oriented approach to work
